The Belles in Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Brunch, an event that will seek to bring awareness to breast cancer, will donate 100% of the event profits to the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation. The event feature many speakers including reality show actress Amber Marchese of Real Housewives of New Jersey on Bravo and Marriage Bootcamp on WE tv and Anita Kopacz, editor-in-chief of Heart and Soul magazine. Other speakers include Dr.Garrett Wirth, who co-wrote “Personalized Breast Care, A Guide for Cosmetic Surgery, Breast Cancer and Reconstruction” and Dr. Julie DiGioia, Chief of Surgical Oncology & Medical Director of The Cristie Kerr Women’s Center at Jersey City Medical Center.
The event will be host by Handbags of Hope Exchange. The group, according to their website is “an organization founded by Erika Hernandez geared towards inspiring, educating, and giving back by collecting gently used handbags filled with everyday goods for women in need.” Their mission is “to empower women who are struggling to rebuild their lives.”
The event will be held on October 16, 2016 at the Culinary Conference Center in the Journal Square area of Jersey City, from 1pm – 5pm. The Culinary Conference Center, part of the Hudson County Community College, holds many different events at the center, from public and private events to film production.

IN KICKING OFF BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH WITH A
HUDSON COUNTY BRUNCH TO EDUCATE & RAISE AWARENESS
“About 1 in 8 U.S. women will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime,” explains Handbags of Hope Exchange founder, Erika Hernandez. Handbags of Hope Exchange and HCCC’s Division of Non-Traditional Programs are inviting members of the Jersey City community to join them during Breast Cancer Awareness Month at a “Belles in Pink Kentucky Derby Brunch,” a charity event on Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 1:00pm – 5:00pm to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research. 100% of the event proceeds will be donated to The Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation. Celebrity Reality TV Star, Amber Marchese (Bravo TV’s Real Housewives of New Jersey and WE TV’s Marriage Bootcamp: Reality Stars); a New Jersey mother, wife, business owner and fearless breast cancer survivor will be the guest speaker at the afternoon of education and empowerment. Marchese will discuss her story, from diagnosis at 31 years old to lessons learned. Jersey City native, Dr. Julie DiGioia will be joining Marchese on stage to discuss high risk breast cancer prevention and treatment options. Dr. DiGioia serves as Chief of Surgical Oncology and is the Medical Director of The Cristie Kerr Women’s Center at Jersey City Medical Center, the first comprehensive state of the art diagnostic imaging facility in Hudson County.
Co-author of “Personalized Breast Care, A Guide for Cosmetic Surgery, Breast Cancer and Reconstruction;” Dr. Garrett Wirth will share his new Fenestrated FlexHD pliable allograft – or “internal bra”, as it’s been dubbed – which allows patients to endure less time with tissue expanders, and more direct-to-implant reconstruction.

I have seen many friends silently suffer in fear and I want this event to be a platform that shows women that they are not alone in their fight” shares Hernandez.
The event will be held at the Culinary Conference Center. Opened in 2008, The Culinary Conference Center is located on the campus of Hudson County Community College (HCCC) and managed by FLIK Conference Centers.
